Community Food Skills Trainer
Laurie Gallant
Laurie became a PRESERVESafe trainer in 2018 and is also a Food Skills For Families Facilitator through Diabetes Canada. She lives in Northwest BC on Gitxsan territory with her partner on a solar-powered farm and a flock of sheep and llamas. Their pantry is always full of canned and dried seafood, fruit and vegetable preserves, wild teas and mushrooms prepared on her wood fired cookstove, propane oven, wood-fired smoker, wood-fired sauna or solar dryer. Laurie's workshops will focus on traditional, wild foods and creative seasonal blends from the garden. Don't be surprised if some of the ingredients used in the class come from her farm! As a community facilitator for many years all over BC, she has lots to share and will keep you entertained with funny stories and pearls of wisdom.
